April 2025
This past weekend had us on the road to Pennsylvania where we took part in Bedford County's Annual missions conference. It was great to reconnect with three of our long time supporting churches, see old friends, and mourn the loss of those who have gone home. We stayed in the Raughley home where we had last stayed in 2014 with the whole family. It was a little strange to be back with only three of us so I guess we are still adjusting to the kids growing up and while I have my doubts, others assure me that we will adjust. It was fascinating to speak with our host about her experience of being a foster mother to over 20 children. Amazing how God put us with her to hear her story and glean from her years of experience. Such a faithful woman! It was really a lovely visit and it felt good to process what God has done over the past 26 years of ministry, see where He met us all along the way, and cast the vision forward to what is next!
Speaking of next.... we are currently working with My Village Ministries to nail down dates for a fall trip to Ecuador where they will share with La Roca foundation and interested Ecuadorian pastors how to activate and train the local church to meet the needs of vulnerable children and their families. To find out more about My Village click here https://myvillageministries.com/.
And speaking of fall....our youth mission trip with Tree of Life Christian Schools sparked the hearts of those kids so much that the school has asked to do another trip in October! It is really pretty awesome to simply prepare the way for these kids to experience God in new ways and watch as He deepens their walk with Him.
In the meantime and on a personal update, Isabel (21) has finished her Undergraduate Degree at Wheaton College! She will officially graduate in just two weeks on May 11th and her plan is to stay on in Wheaton where she will begin to work on getting into Physician's Assistant Master's program. And Elena (18) just flew in last night having literally ACED her first year of college. We get to have her home for the summer and that makes a mama's heart happy!
Thank you to those of you who have reached out to say hello! We love to hear from you and receive updates from your worlds too!
